Really interesting read, thank you! Talking about this more and more is such an important way of moving the sport forward - for athletes, for brands, managers, agents - everyone! I'm wondering if there's a model of how to do this from other sports that could be applicable to trail/mountain/outdoor soul sports.

This is super helpful! I used to be a sponsored athlete, but I had no representation and really messed things up (I was also a teenager, so I don’t blame myself too much). Now I’m wondering what it might be like to work with brands trying to speak to middle-aged women, and have had no idea how to avoid the mistakes I made early on. This has given me so much to think about!!

Great read, great insights. I wrote a piece about this topic in January, much less detailed though. My point was rather to encourage athletes to know and defend their real 'value', which usually is much higher than what brands pay them.
